Treemont Residents Help Harvey "New Neighbors" in Assisted Living Houston Community

The "New Neighbors" arriving at Treemont (storm victims) have become arriving at Treemont, many with nothing but the clothes on their backs. The High & Dry Welcoming Committee have helped sort out the many donations provided by the community of "Nextdoor Woodlake." These donations have been plentiful and are everything one person would need to start up housekeeping.  displaed hurricane harvey neighbors assisted living houston 2017-09-02 02.38.13_web.jpg

Treemont Assisted Living Houston Residents wanted to do something to help the storm victims and have decided to call these displaced persons "New Neighbors" instead of storm victims or evacuees.

A feeling of gratification is ever present when these New Neighbors walk in and choose shoes, clothes, bedding, towels, glassware, toiletries laundry soap, toothpaste & toothbrushes, to include things of every size and description that someone who's lost all of their belongings may need. The community has been so generous it's heartwarming. Our senior living Houston residents are so eager to help their New Neighbors it's wonderful.  The Activity Room (Donation Center) is filled with laughter and excitement at the prospect of being of service to those who've survived the storm and have lost everything.

Here a new arrival (as a result of Hurricane Harvey) is given everything she needs to begin the process of recovery.   Her new apartment will be well stocked with all she needs to set up her new life, going forward.
