Turning back the hands of time? Treemont Retirement Community is proud to have Julia Maule on our campus showcasing her training in Gyrotonic® exercise. Great for all ages and the benefits for seniors is remarkable. Julia Maule said, “I am very happy to be here at Treemont Retirement Community introducing this method of movement to the senior community.”
Gyrotonic® is a unique method of exercise that allows the body to stretch and strengthen with movement. Great for joint mobility, flexibility, coordination and balance.
Treemont’s Executive Director Rodney Brooks, had his 82 year old father, T.C. Brooks, try Gyrotonic® when struggling with two arthritic knees. T.C. said, “The results were amazing after just a few sessions.” This is when Rodney knew this would be great for Treemont’s 300 plus residents. “It’s a new and exciting way to get moving again!”
Treemont resident, Nancy Evans who mobilizes herself in her motorized scooter said, "I love it. Julia was so patient with me and it helped me so much." Felix Meyer stated," At first I was a little scared, but once I started I really enjoyed doing it. I want to come back, it made me feel so good after."
Treemont Activity Director Monica Muniz notes that Gyrotonic® is a unique exercise program on the West side of Houston. “I really am excited about this new wave of exercise. Watching Mr. Brooks do it with such ease wiped out any doubts that it would be impossible for our residents to do. It touches on so many ranges of motions with the arm and leg movements. This will be especially helpful on those residents who require range of motion with their therapy program.
