Residents often come to skilled nursing following medical setbacks, like a complicated infection, a fall resulting in a fracture, or a stroke resulting in the need for retraining in daily living tasks. We are delighted that Cynthia will bring her many talents to Treemont Health Care Center (HCC). Cynthia brings to Treemont a strong clinical skills background and customer service orientation. This will reinforce Treemont’s focus on top quality patient care. 

For the past 3 years, Cynthia has been Corporate Director of Resident Care for Retirement Center Management, overseeing the clinical care for 13 facilities. Cynthia has also held Administrator/Executive Director positions for home health care and independent living communities and has served as an ADON at a nursing facility.

Houston Nursing Home Uses Beloved Music to Renew Lives of Dementia Residents

Seniors and their family memories are often reticent about their loved one moving to a nursing home. But if you choose the right one, the quality of life of your family member can be greatly enhanced. Each resident at Treemont Health Care Center, for example, has a care plan” that makes sure the resident receives the best care to make their quality of life as good as their situation permits. One unique tool in Treemont’s hip pocket is the Music & Memory program. 

Music and Memory (M&M) is a relatively new and innovative program at Treemont nursing and rehab, designed to use beloved music favorites that will tap into an Alzheimer’s or dementia individual’s deep memories, help renew their past life connections, thereby improving their quality of life. Treemont Health Care Center participated in a Texas Department of Disabilities pilot test two years ago designed to help nursing homes and assisted living Houston facilities reduce the use of psychotropic drugs  in dementia patients and increase resident socialization and interaction though the use of beloved music delivered via  iPods.

Nursing Homes in Houston: Spotlight on Administrative Assistant Diane Jaime

The feeling of warmth and compassion are key qualities desired when one enters a nursing and rehab home. That is what you get when greeted by Treemont Health Care Center’s Diane Jaime. Diane has been a friendly, smiling face on the Treemont Campus since September 2013, when she started in Senior Allegiance. She moved to Treemont Health Care Center in January 2015. Diane has been the first point of contract or “greeter” for those entering the Treemont Nursing and Rehab Center, although Diane’s role is more expansive as Administrative Assistant and Human Resources Manager. 

Says Diane: “You might ask me where would I prefer to work and my response would be, “I am grateful and thankful for the opportunity to be given to hang my twig on this tree no matter where it lays.”

Diane’s key role is in Customer Service.
