Treemont residents will see a friendly face walking around Campus. Tanace Foster has been promoted to the Community Liaison at Senior Allegiance, providing support to our Independent Living residents. Tanace will soon have an office in the first floor main lobby across from the library, making it easier for residents and family members to stop by and ask questions instead of going to the main Senior Allegiance office in F309. When not in the office, Tanace will be participating in community events, including scooping ice cream at the monthly Ice Cream Social.
Residents move to a senior independent living community with the desire to stay independent as long as possible. Treemont introduced the concept of “Independence Plus.” Seniors who need assistance with Activities of Daily Living can receive Personal Assistance Services and/or Medicare covered Home Health services in their apartment instead of moving to an assisted living facility. Senior Allegiance is the “Plus” in Independence Plus.”
Tanace will be directly reaching out to our senior living in Houston residents to introduce herself. She will inform current and potential residents about non-medical and medical options though Home Health (such as nursing, physical, occupational, and speech therapy which may be fully covered by Medicare). Senior Allegiance offers medication management, private one-on-one caregivers, and a-la-carte services such as assistance with bathing and dressing. Tanace is also available to do care and safety assessments; how programs offered by Senior Allegiance will help residents live safer and more independently — ‘an ounce of prevention is worth a pond of cure.’
Says Director of Nursing Karina Walker,” Tanace has become an essential part of our team. From the beginning she has been willing to learn and help in any way, ensuring that not only her own daily responsibilities are completed, but that her team members also have help if needed. Tanace is very enthusiastic, always has a positive attitude and connects well with our staff members, making the work environment very positive and smooth. She is also very helpful to the residents that call our office. If the person they are calling for is not available, Tanace always tries to assist the resident herself. We are very happy to have such a hard working and caring person on our team to help Senior Allegiance provide the best care to both our staff and patients.
Tanace is originally from Bridgeport, CT, having moved here with her parents. She has 20 years in health care as a CNA, a case manager, phlebotomist, residential coordinator, Primary Home Care supervisor and billing assistant. She was also a legal secretary. In her free time, you can find Tanace line dancing.
At Senior Allegiance, Tanace has been driven by doing the best job she possibly can for her co-workers with an outgoing and positive attitude; we look forward to sharing her talents with residents and their loved ones. Tanace says, “I started working with seniors because I enjoy making a difference in their lives.”
Tanace is looking forward to meeting all the great residents and family members at Treemont. Soon you’ll be able to easily visit her in her new first floor office. The goal of Senior Allegiance is to help Treemont residents stay Independent, Healthy and Happy. A small helping hand can make all the difference in a senior remaining active and healthy. Questions?
