Seniors Stay Independent in Retirement Communities; RSVP to Road Map Series, Oct 24th

If you know a senior that needs more support, we hope that you will call Treemont Retirement Community. Our resident counselors, Lupe Sepulveda and Linda Parra, are available to talk through the range of senior care options, and help direct you to the right level of care and senior community, even if that community ends up not being Treemont. As part of the education process, Treemont is pleased to be hosting a six-part educational seminar, The Road Map to Senior Care, designed to help families navigate the maze of senior care options.

The next presentation entitled, “The Talk: Effective Discussion of Senior Care Options” is September 26th at 6pm in the Treemont Auditorium, located at 2501 Westerland Drive, Houston, TX 77063. Refreshments will be served.

Our presenter is Stephen Andriko, author of The Road Map to Senior Care, a book which examines all of the options available for senior care. As a noted public speaker he delivers presentations regarding senior care options, including with the Alzheimer’s Association Speakers Bureau.

Stephen will address the following situations between adult children and their parent(s): (1) parents that do not require care; (2) parents requiring care and (3) one parent caring for another. After a career counselling seniors and their adult children, you will benefit from Stephen’s helpful insights on what to consider as you start exploring assisted living options.

Previous topics included: Securing VA Benefits, noting that such VA benefits may now be used for independent living rent in “protected environments” such as Treemont and Navigating the Maze of Senior Care Options. Future programs include:

  • How to Pay for Senior Care on October 24
  • Reduce the Risk of Developing Dementia, November 20
  • Helpful Hints: Interacting with Those with Dementia, Dec. 5

As part of the October 24 "How to Pay for Senior Care" seminar, Mr. Andriko will revisit the VA & Attendance Benefit and how Treemont helps veterans navigate the application process to secure this valuable benefit of up to $2,500/monthly.
