Senior Living Houston: Housekeeping Director Evelyn Arriola
The beauty of retirement living is that life is maintenance-free, with daily tasks such as housekeeping a task of the past, as this service is included in Treemont residents’ monthly rent. We are fortunate to have Housekeeping Director Evelyn Arriola join our leadership team. Evelyn brings with her a strong background in housekeeping management that will provide renewed energy and structure to our program.
The Housekeeping Supervisor manages a team of about 15 to 18 staff responsible for taking care of Treemont Independent Living common areas and resident apartments units plus supervising our nursing home commercial laundry facility. With Covid-19, there is also the extra work involved in protection cleaning — virus prevention that is added to daily tasks. The goal is to keep our community in a clean and orderly condition, in support of our residents.
Evelyn has significant experience as a Housekeeping Supervisor, most recently at The Hyatt Centric Hotel and before then at the Holiday Inn Houston SW and as Manager of the Houston Inn.
Evelyn was attracted to Treemont to be able to work in a new environment with seniors. “I would have liked to have taken care of my grandparents but I couldn’t because I was far away. That’s why seniors remind me of my grandparents. I’m excited to get to know the residents and make life as comfortable as possible for them at this stage of their lives,” says Evelyn.
Originally from Guatemala, Evelyn came to Houston to be with her family. “I have a beautiful mother that takes care of me and I have a precious 4 year old daughter,” says Evelyn. In terms of outside pursuits, Evelyn says she likes to learn new things to improve herself.
Executive Director Rodney Brooks says, “We hired Evelyn as she has the hotel housekeeping background that will provide the leadership skills to ensure top quality service to our residents. Evelyn also has a sweet disposition and Lupe (resident counselor and housekeeper manager) and I think the residents and staff will love her!” Please welcome Evelyn Arriola to the Treemont team. We are delighted to have her on our team and hope you will stop to greet and welcome Evelyn to our Treemont family. Questions on housekeeping?
