Senior Living Houston: Housekeeper Esther Renteria supports residents
The beauty of retirement living is that life is maintenance-free, with daily tasks such as housekeeping a task of the past, as this service is included in Treemont’s monthly rent. We are fortunate to have Esther Renteria tending to our residents’ apartments. With her friendly demeanor and great work ethic, Esther is a valued employee.
Esther is one of the many long-tenured employees (31 years!) that support our residents. Esther is the housekeeper for many of our Building A residents. Her duties also include upkeep of common areas in the community. Each Treemont resident is assigned to a housekeeper to do weekly housekeeping in their apartment, as part of Treemont’s all-inclusive monthly senior apartment rental. This covers vacuuming, dusting, wiping down counters and cleaning the bathroom. Extra services include weekly change of bed linens ($10/month), personal laundry ($8 load) and ironing ($1.50-$3.00 item). General Cleaning, available at $15/hour, involves the resident directing specific tasks such as straightening closets, cleaning behind furniture and extra cleaning of kitchen and other areas.
Esther has worked most of her life at Treemont with the exception of being a cook at Poulard’s French Restaurant. Esther needed a second job to fit her schedule and has been a Treemont housekeeper ever since 1988. Esther is from Guerrero, Mexico and came to discover America and look for employment to help her parents. She comes from a big family. She has 4 daughters, 1 son and 5 grandchildren. Esther enjoys cooking and being with her family.
Esther enjoys working with seniors. “I can communicate and related with them. They are so nice to have a conversation with. What I like about taking care of seniors is that they never change, they continue to live,” says Esther.
Lupe Sepulveda, Resident Counselor and Housekeeping Manager says: “Esther is a delight to work with. Her residents value the care and attention Esther puts into their apartment care. I can always count on Esther to an outstanding job and have respect for the individual residents’ needs.”
We are delighted to have Esther Renteria as a dedicated member of the Treemont team to make life at Treemont more carefree for our residents. Questions on housekeeping? Call Lupe Sepulveda at 713.783.6820 or Lupe@Treemont.com.
