Senior Living Houston: Business Manager Star Flores
A smooth operating business office, balancing “the books,” listening to residents and employees and helping both start off on the right foot are key parts of a business office manager. Barbara McNeal will be joining her husband in retirement at the end of February. Until then, she will be training a new employee to receive the hand-off of a very busy business office. Thus, we are now welcoming Business Office Manager Star Flores to our Treemont family.
Star says, “Working in the retirement industry has been so rewarding. I appreciate my resident’s life stories and wisdom. The fun and knowledge working with this population is unmatched” In her new role, Star will take over resident billing, community finances and human resources.
Treemont Management believes that a top-quality Business Office Manager is important in our day to day operations for both residents and employees and having an “open door” policy is key. Executive Director, Rodney Brooks said of Star, “We are excited to have such a bright Star joining our Treemont family. Star has a solid background in retirement community sales, marketing and management.” We believe this position is an important block in the business foundation.
Star has an Associate Degree in Business Management from Houston Community College with a Human Resources Specialization. She is a native Houstonian and proud parent of a seven year old son. She is married and just celebrated their anniversary in November. Star is the youngest of 8 children. She loves the arts, theater and museums. Star also loves to paint with acrylics and has participated in local art shows. Previously, Star worked for United Healthcare specializing in Medicare, Medicaid, provider services and training. From there Star moved into Sales and Marketing Director positions at Senior Lifestyle and at a Brookdale community. Star moved into the Business Office Manager at Discovery Senior Living to gain operational experience. Star states, “Treemont’s reputation in this industry is outstanding each time I spoke to other industry professionals and partners.”
Star will be reaching out to all residents and employees. “We are delighted to welcome Star to our leadership team,” says Executive Director Rodney Brooks. “Star has hit the ground running and will continue to train with Barbara through February.” Please welcome Star Flores to the Treemont team.
