Spotlight on Houston Nursing Home Admissions Director Kelli Walleck

Welcome to Kelli Walleck, Director of Marketing & Admissions Director!  Residents often come to skilled nursing and rehab or assisted living following medical setbacks, such as a complicated infection, a fall resulting in a fracture, or a stroke resulting in the needKelli_nursing homes in houston_headshot2 for retraining in daily living tasks. One benefit of residing at Treemont is that there is a Health Care Center (HCC) on the campus, just off Building B, to provide rehabilitation after a hospital stay. Kelli is responsible for sharing our historic community with families of seniors who are searching for strong short-term nursing and rehabilitation services or transition to an assisted living setting.

Kelli is generally the first point of contact for residents and families with questions about health care options. Please introduce yourself. You will be impressed with Kelli’s knowledge of health care options as well as her delightful personality. We recommend scheduling a visit with Kelli now to casually discuss health care options, your insurance benefits as it relates to a hospital/nursing home stay, or to tour the Health Center.

Kelli has 10 years of experience as a patient advocate and in marketing/business development with a B.S. in Communications from the University of Houston-Victoria. Most recently, Kelli was Business Development Manager at Classic Chevrolet of Sugar Land. She is recently engaged and will be married on October 19, 2019. She, her parents and grandparents were all born and raised in the Rosenberg/East Bernard areas. She has a brother Stephen, his wife, Michelle, and their son and daughter. Her Nana (Mary Walleck), Dad (Nick Walleck) and his wife Peggy still live in Fort Bend County.

Kelli says, “I love the outdoors, hunting, fishing, swimming and sports. I LOVE my Houston Texans and Astros. I also love to cook. I just wish I knew how to cook small! I make homemade noodles and can my own pickles and salsa. I also love to do fitness challenges and am a personal trainer part time.”

Why bring her talents to Treemont? “I have known the amazing administrator, Cynthia Lamison, for many years as we worked together before. Quality senior care has always been a passion of mine,” says Kelli. “I feel offering dignity in aging with some humor mixed in is important to both our short-term rehabilitation residents AND the seniors who have chosen to stay with us until their final transition.”

“I love to hear seniors’ stories and share smiles and greetings with them — really let them know that they are still appreciated. I had a memory care resident who I walked in on doing jumping jacks! I hurried to his side when his Care Associate stopped me and said, ‘Miss Kelli, he does 50 jumping jacks and 50 push ups every day!’ I was so amazed by that, as he scooted his feet when he walked. I thought it was incredible that he still did this when he would forget to take large steps” says Kelli.

Kelli is one of a number of new Health Care Center managers Administrator Cynthia has brought onto the team to make sure our Independent Living residents have the best quality care when they transition to HCC full-time, or temporarily for rehab. Kelli can be reached at 713-783-4100, at 713-816-2033 (cell) or via KelliW@TreemontHC.com. Treemont HCC is known for: (1) its outstanding therapy program; (2) its caring staff; and (3) its small, intimate environment.
