There are some individuals who quietly do their daily work without fanfare yet epitomize what Treemont most values in an employee.Dining Staff Salad Station Lead Maria Rodriguez has devoted a 37 year career to making our residents feel loved and respected. Maria makes sure the salad area is clean and sanitized at all times. She also ensures that all salads each day are prepped in accordance to recipes and exact quantities.
Maria applied to work in the Dining Room at this senior living Houston community because her daughter Olga had been working here and really enjoyed it. She had previously worked in an apartment complex nearby. She has been at our assisted living in Houston community for almost 36 years, starting in the kitchen helping to clean and sanitize and for the past 34 years has worked in the salad area.
Maria most enjoys making various salads for our residents and having the opportunity to serve them daily. At Treemont, we know that great staff members are needed for happy residents.Maria says, “There used to be a judge who lived here (for 15 years) who would tell me the only reason he was still here was because of my amazing jello!”
Maria was born in Guerrero, Mexico on her family’s ranch named Quata Cero where she was homeschooled by her parents. Maria’s husband came to Houston first and had a great job that he really enjoyed. Maria says, “His boss was a great person and drove down to Mexico and brought my children and me back to Houston. The rest is history!” Maria has 8 children and 17 grandchildren. When Maria is not cooking or cleaning for her family, she loves to go shopping.
There are three opportunities daily to nourish our residents. It’s a noble role to be part of the dining service team. Maria has performed with grace and care for that Treemont residents are most grateful. We are delighted to have Maria as part of the Dining Room Team.
Now that you know a little more about Maria, please make sure you say hello and introduce yourself when you’re in the Dining Room.
