Spotlight at Houston Assisted Living: Marketing Coordinator Goes Above & Beyond

Most everyone knows Linda Parra who used to be the Front Desk Receptionist, before moving into a Leasing position. If you don’t know Linda, she likely knows you! Linda does not confine her task to touring and moving in new residents. She takes an active interest in the residents who live at our Houston senior living community, helping them with minor tasks and responding to more urgent situations. Many of you have witnessed her warmth and sensitivity, as well as her humor.assisted living in Houston_Linda Parra_resident coordinator.jpg

Linda has worked on the Campus for 7 years, starting off as a CNA, then as night supervisor then office manager for Treemont Home Care, soon to become Senior Allegiance. Linda was asked to be the Front Desk Receptionist because of her warmth and poise to handle a multi-faceted job.  Linda was promoted after 2 years to Marketing Coordinator to work with Resident Coordinator Lupe Sepulveda to lease apartments, ensure successful move-ins and visit new residents to check that they are getting settled and that their needs are being met.

Previously Linda worked in retail for 21 years in various positions as a supervisor, vendor manager and as regional manager for Aarons Sales and lease. She wanted a different atmosphere and inspiration, so she joined Treemont. Linda says, I love Treemont and will not go anywhere else. Everyone is so great!” “Working with seniors is a blessing. They are special in so many different ways. I love them all. My favorite story which I will never forget was several years ago one special lady who had no family was in her last days. I stayed with her and fed her what she could eat and drink. We held hands and to me that meant a lot to her and me.”

For those who know Linda, her warmth and caring nature is not surprising. Executive Director Rodney Brooks relies on both Linda and Resident Coordinator Lupe Sepulveda to continue to engage and help residents after they move in. That is a big plus for the assisted living in Houston Campus.

Linda still has her dad (age 82) and mother (age 71) who live in Katy and 3 sisters and one brother, of which Linda is the baby girl. Her Dad was born and raised in Edinburg, TX and her mother in Reynosa, Mexico. They met at her dad’s sister’s house and eloped! She is a single parent to Steven Anthony Parra, soon to be age 17. Linda’s hobbies are fishing, camping and doing yard work in the great outdoors!
