Healthy Tips for Seniors: Coronavirus and Community Precautions
As the spread of Coronavirus continues to be a main concern throughout the world it is important to stay informed and do our part to respond to this emerging public health threat. As we are bombarded daily on television and social media with information about the Coronavirus, it is important to obtain information from trustworthy sources. As a home health agency we, at Senior Allegiance, rely on organizations such as the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO). These websites provide the most up to date information with regard to COVID-19 prevention, management, and status of the virus.
Senior communities such as Treemont Retirement Community are a focus of concern for many, due to the age demographic of residents in these communities. Treemont has the unique opportunity to house Senior Allegiance Home Health agency that has become a great resource and partner in responding to COVID-19, along with Treemont Health Care Center.
Senior Allegiance has assisted Treemont Independent Living in creating a temperature check system for residents and visitors. Important questions are asked, such as “Do you have any respiratory symptoms such as a cough,” “Have you encountered someone that has been tested positive for COVID-19?” Visitors are also encouraged to reduce visits if not necessary to minimize exposure to the Treemont community. Families are encouraged to contact Senior Allegiance at 713.975-1519 to provide a wellness check for their loved one as a way to also reduce visitors into the building. Senior Allegiance will continue to monitor the situation and work with Treemont Retirement Community management to assist in any way possible to help slow the spread of COVID-19.
We are including guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control about methods to assist with reducing the spread of Coronavirus.
Also always remember to consult with your doctor for proper diagnosis and treatment.
