April Rankin is the Business Manager of Senior Allegiance. As Administrator Malli Ford’s right hand person, April exudes a quiet calm and confidence that permits the smooth servicing of Treemont residents care needs. April is the first person to greet Treemont families and residents entering Suite F-307, offering a warm greeting and assistance. Having previously worked for this Administrator, Malli asked April to join the Senior Allegiance management team. April’s job responsibilities involve maintaining employee records, processing payroll, doing billing, accounts receivable and human resources tasks such as orienting new hires. Yet, April is a key player stepping up as needed to assist Houston independent living residents who need a helping hand.
Residents move to a senior independent living community with the desire to stay independent as long as possible. Thus, Treemont introduced the concept of “Independence Plus” on our campus. Seniors who need help with activities of daily living can receive home health services in their retirement apartment instead of moving to a licensed assisted living facility. This permits our residents to maintain a more independent lifestyle, and keep a larger living unit, often at a lower cost than comparable assisted living facilities. Senior Allegiance is the “Plus” in Independence Plus”
Before Treemont, April worked in the Home Health field for four years. Her goal is to attend College of the Mainland in the Fall to complete her associate degree in business then transfer to the University of Houston — Clearlake for her Bachelors degree. She loves that Senior Allegiance is a small company that focuses on their employees as well as their resident clients. Aprils says, “I love working with the senior population. They have great stories!”
